I have been a fan of the electronic music wizard Nick Collier for some 9 years now. He played in the bizarre Sheffield band Pink Grease and is known for his d.i.y. electronic instruments that will blow your mind.
Nick appears in this 2011 short silent movie, for which he also composed the eerie soundtrack.
